CAREFUL PRACTICE TEACHING. One period a day for the entire year is given to teaching andobservation. Each graduate averages over five months, oftenan entire year, of actual teaching under careful supervision.The aim is to develop teachers who can plan and carry outtheir own work. No poor teaching is permitted. Everyteacher must think over her work both before and after sheteaches. She is given a class for a definite number of weeks,and must prepare in advance a written plan of her work forthe entire period.
