1. The Tibetans and the Chinese must embrace and trufully respect each other, and heal the wounds that comes from nationalism.

2. There is no Chinese Nationalism or Tibetan Nationalism, but simply "nationalism".

3. Nationalism is neither holy or evil. It exists in the world for a reason. It is simply something that destroys, that is required by the confluence of historical forces to exist. We must understand that nationalism doesn't preserve our humanity, but rather consumes it.

4. The Dalai Lama is not Tibetan. No he isn't. I mean, of course he is Tibetan. But he is beyond Tibetan. He is Rinpoche to our whole world.

5. The Chinese as a nation, have a hard time understanding this. They think the Rinpoche is the source of the problem, rather than a solution to it.

6. I am saying this as an implication of collective guilt. Me included. I am Chinese myself.

7. But sometimes, how much can things like "collective guilt" be substantiated? Eventually, I believe, the Chinese as a collectivity, will be forgiven by someone.

8. Tibet may or may not become "free". That is just what happens on the outside. These are just "possible" future scenarios, but not "probable" ones. But eventually somebody will forgive somebody. And this happens on the inside.

9. To make it easier to understand, analogy: Germany and France used to be foes. They fought many wars against each other, and wanted to eat each other up. But, now, without totally annihilating each other in a concluding war, they have managed to become friends, and to become part of the same community. Things didn't happen on the outside. It happened on the inside.

世界的仁波切

1)藏民族和华民族必须真真正正地互相敬爱,必须医治民族主义造成的创伤。

2)世界上其实没有所谓“中华民族主义”或“藏民族主义”,只有“民族主义”。

3)民族主义本质上不是神圣的,也不是邪恶的。它是为了某一个目的而存在于这个世界的。它是作为一个最终有破坏性的力量而存在的。我们必须明白,民族主义的存在,并没有保存我们的人性,而是削减了我们的人性。

4)达赖喇嘛不是西藏的。当然,他是西藏的。但他却不止是西藏的。他是我们世界的仁波切。


5)中国人,华人,中华民族,汉族,你跟他们说达赖是我们世界的仁波切,他们都很难明白。他们认为,达赖是西藏问题之源,非西藏问题之解。

6)我这样说中国人,其实说的是他们的,不,我们中国人的一个“集体原罪”。我自己也算一个。我也是中国人。

7)但是有时侯,“集体原罪”这东西不好说。这是一个很难付诸具体的抽象概念。我想最终,中国人作为一个集体,是会被原谅的。

8)西藏将来或者会得到真正的自由。或者不会。但这只是外在发生的事。这些之是“可能”的未来,而不是“可预知”的未来。最终,有人会原谅,有人会被原谅。这才是内在发生的事。

9)作个比较:就拿德国和法国来说吧。这两国家原来是死敌。他们几场血战,都不能把对方吃掉。最后,他们竟奇迹地成为了朋友,成为了一个共同体的成员。这不是外在发生使然,而是内在。
