ज़िथर
एक तंतुवाद्य
ज़िथर (zither) एक तंतुवाद्य (तारों वाला संगीत वाद्य) होता है जो स्लोवीनिया, ऑस्ट्रिया, हंगरी, पश्चिमोत्तरी क्रोएशिया, दक्षिणी जर्मनी, मध्य यूरोप के ऐल्प पर्वत क्षेत्र, भारत, चीन व अन्य पूर्व एशियाई इलाक़ों में प्रचलित है। ज़िथर की तारें इसके गूंजने वाले ध्वनि डब्बे से आगे नहीं जाती जबकी सितार की तारें उसके ध्वनि-घड़े से आगे उसकी लम्बी तनी तक जाती हैं। ज़िथरों के कई विविध रूप होते हैं।[1] कुछ ज़िथरों में परदे (फ़्रेट) होते हैं और कुछ में नहीं।[2] भारत की विचित्र वीणा भी एक प्रकार का बिना-परदों वाला ज़िथर है।[2]
