'''औसत समुद्र सतह से ऊंचाई ''' ('''AMSL''') का अर्थ है, किसी वस्तु या स्थान की हवा में ऊंचाई, जो कि औसत समुद्र सतह से नापी गई हो। यह शब्द/वाक्यांश रेडियो संचार संप्रेषण और दूरसंचार के क्षेत्र में, तथा वौवहन के क्षेत्र में अभियांत्रिकों द्वारा प्रयोग किया जाता है। इसका प्रयोग उनके द्वारा किसी स्टेशन के द्वारा प्रभावित क्षेत्र को नापने के लिए किया जाता है। इसे नौवहन और विमानन में भी प्रयोग किया जाता है, जहां सभी ऊंचाइयां औसत समुद्र तल की तुलना में (सापेक्ष) नापी जाती हैं। इसके अलावा भूगोल में भि इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है।
