अली बदरी सामर्राई, अबू दुआ, डाक्टर इब्राहीम, अल कर्रार और अबू बक्र अलबग़दादी आदि कई इसके उपनाम हैं। यह पीएचडी हैं। इसके पिता का नाम अलबू बदरी हैं जो सलफ़ी [[तकफ़ीरी]] विचारधारा को मानते हैं। अबू बक्र बग़दादी की शुरुवात धर्म के प्रचार साथ ही प्रशिक्षण से हुआ। लेकिन जेहादी विचारधारा की ओर अधिक झुकाव
