'''सिएरा लियोन''', अधिकारक तौर पर '''सिएरा लियोन का गणराज्य''', [[पश्चिमी अफ़्रीका]] का एक देश है जिस की सरहदों के उत्तर-पूर्व में [[गिनी]], दक्षिण-पूर्व में [[लाईबेरिया]] और दक्षिण-पश्चिम में [[अंध महासागर]] हैं। इसकी जलवायु गर्मि-खंडीय है और वातावरण बहु-भांति है जिस में सावना (सूखे पेड़ और घास का मैदान) से ले कर ऊषण-कटिबंधीय क्षेत्र के घने जंगल शामिल हैं। इसका कुल क्षेत्रफ़ल ७१,७४० वर्ग कि.मी. है और चार भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों में बांटा गया है: उत्तरी सूबा, पूर्वी सूबा, दक्षिणी सूबा और पश्चिमी क्षेत्र जो आगे से १४ ज़िलों में बाँटे गए हैं। इन ज़िलों की अपनी सीधे तौर पर चुनी हुई स्थानीय सरकार है जिसको ज़िला कौंसिल कहा जाता है और जिसका प्रमुख कौंसिल का सदर होता है।
