'''मारवाड़''' राजस्थान प्रांत के पश्चिम में थार के मरुस्थल में आंशिक रूप से स्थित है. मारवाड़ संस्कृत के मरूवाट शब्द से बना है जिसका अर्थ है मौत का भूभाग. प्राचीन काल में इस भूभाग को मरूदेश भी कहते थे. इसके अंतर्गत राजस्थान प्रांत के बाढ़मेर, जोधपुर, पाली, जालोर और नागौर जिले आते है.
