== कल्पना ==
''बिग बॉस'' धारावाहिक में सितारें प्रतिभागी होते है जो एक साथ एक ही घर में लगभद तीन महीनों के लिए रहते है और इनका बाहरी दुनिया से कोई जोड़ नहीं होता है। इन्हें एक गुढ़ व्यक्ति देखता रहता है जिसे 'बिग बॉस' के नाम से जाना जाता है और इसकी मौजूदगी केवल इसकी आवाज़ से प्रतीत होती है। हफ्ते के पहले दिन सभी प्रतिभागी को उनमें से ही किसी एक को घर से बाहर करने के लिये नामंकित किया जाता हैं। सबसे ज्यादा नामित सदस्य को घर से बाहर करने के लिये नामंकित किया जाता है, जोकि २, ३ या ४ हो सकते हैं। पूरे हफ्तें जनता, नामंकित मे से अपने पसंदीदा सदस्य को बचाने के लिये वोट करती हैं। सबसे कम वोट पाने वाले को घर से निष्कासित कर दिया जाता। और यह सिलसिला तब चलता रहता है, अन्तिम बचने वाला विजेता होता है। इसके अलावा हफ्ते के बीच में घर का कप्तान बनने और लक्जरी बज़ट के लिये कई टास्क होते रहते है।
== नियम ==
इसके सारे नियम बिग बॉस के द्वारा कभी भी तय किया जा सकता है और कभी भी कोई भी नियम को हटाया या बदला जा सकता है। इसके मुख्य नियमानुसार एक घर में सभी प्रतिभागी को रखा जाता है, वे एक दूसरे को बाहर निकालने के लिए अपना मत दे सकते है या किसी को बचाने के लिए। इसके अलावा कभी भी बिग बॉस द्वारा किसी भी सदस्य को बाहर करने के लिए स्वयं बिग बॉस निर्वाचित करता है। अर्थात कभी भी कोई भी नियम बिग बॉस के द्वारा बनाए, हटाये या बदले जा सकते है।
==प्रसारण==
मुख्य टीवी प्रसारण में दैनिक हाइलाइट्स कार्यक्रम और सप्ताहांत को साप्ताहिक निष्कासन, कलर्स टीवी पर प्रसारित होता हैं, पहला सत्र सोनी टीवी पर प्रसारित किया गया था। हर दिन के एपिसोड में पिछले दिन की मुख्य घटनाएं दिखाई जाती हैं। प्रत्येक शनिवार को निष्कासित प्रतियोगी के साथ एक साक्षात्कार पर केंद्रित कार्यक्रम प्रायोजित होता है। हलांकि इसमें प्रत्येक संस्करण में बदलाव होता रहता हैं।
