First, I do cannot read or write in Hindu। Also, I am a Christian and have no desire to convert to Hinduism. But I have great respect for that (those) religion(s), and made the Ganesha to help me meditate. I mediate to the word "Om", but first learned a different mantra from Trancendental Meditation. I was instructed to never repeat that mantra to anyone, so when my children were ready to learn how to meditate, I taught them the well-known "Om". Later I learned that Om as connected to Ganesha, and made the Ganesha-elephant out of svg files on wikimedia commons. I added symbols from other religions so that Christians, Moslems, Jews (and others) would feel comfortable meditating to this elephant.
