Saini and mali both are different caste. it's only misunderstanding that they are same, only mali's of rajasthan use saini surname after 1930.

Saini and Mali are two different caste in India.
Saini are found in Himachal, J&k, haryana, Punjab and some regions of uthrakhnd & UP.
But mali are in maharashtra, rajasthan and other state.
Mali's of rajasthan use saini surname after 1930, to join Saini company in British army.
Saini are landlords and descendants of mharaja sursen saini which was grandfather of load shri Krishna.
Mhraja pours was also belong to mharaja sursen saini clain.
Mali and saini are two different caste before 1930. But after 1930 Mali's of rajasthan use as a surname saini.
