'''कांधार''' या '''कंदहार''' [[अफ़ग़ानिस्तान]] का एक शहर है।<ref>{{cite web|title=CIA - The World Factbook - Afghanistan|url=https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/af.html|publisher=[[सी आइ ए]]|accessdate=27 दिसम्बर 2011|language=अंग्रेज़ी|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170920072213/https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/af.html|archive-date=20 सितंबर 2017|url-status=live}}</ref> यह अफगानिस्तान का तीसरा प्रमुख ऐतिहासिक नगर एवं [[कांधार प्रान्त|कंदहार प्रान्त]] की राजधानी भी है। इसकी स्थिति 31 डिग्री 27मि उ.अ. से 64 डिग्री 43मि पू.दे. पर, [[काबुल]] से लगभग 280 मील दक्षिण-पश्चिम और 3,462 फुट की ऊँचाई पर है। यह नगर टरनाक एवं अर्ग़ंदाब नदियों के उपजाऊ मैदान के मध्य में स्थित है जहाँ नहरों द्वारा सिंचाई होती है, परंतु इसके उत्तर का भाग उजाड़ है। समीप के नए ढंग से सिंचित मैदानों में फल, [[गेहूँ]], [[जौ]], [[दालें]], [[मजीठ]], [[हींग]], [[तम्बाकू|तंबाकू]] आदि लगाई जाती हैं। कंदहार से नए चमन तक रेलमार्ग है और वहाँ तक [[पाकिस्तान]] की रेल जाती है। प्राचीन कंदहार नगर तीन मील में बसा है जिसके चारों तरफ 24 फुट चौड़ी, 10 फुट गहरी खाई एवं 27 फुट ऊँची दीवार है। इस शहर के छह दरवाजे हैं जिनमें से दो पूरब, दो पश्चिम, एक उत्तर तथा एक दक्षिण में है। मुख्य सड़कें 40 फुट से अधिक चौड़ी हैं। कंदहार चार स्पष्ट भागों में विभक्त है जिनमें अलग-अलग जाति (कबीले) के लोग रहते हैं। इनमें चार-दुर्रानी, घिलज़ाई, पार्सिवन और काकार-प्रसिद्ध हैं।
