कभी-कभी काँच को गलाकर तथा साँचे में ढालकर भी फ्रेनेल लेंस बनाए जाते हैं। ऐसे लेंस पुंजप्रकाश (flood lights), रेल मार्ग (rail road), यातायात संकेत (traffic signal) इत्यादि में प्रयुक्त होते हैं। सन् 1945 के बाद प्लास्टिक पदार्थों को गलाकर पतले फ्रेनेल लेंस भी बनाए गए, जो प्राय: अभिक्षेत्र (fieled) लेंस के रूप में प्रयुक्त होते हैं।
