SADANANDPUR-AN INTRODUCTION

Sadanandpur village falls under Balia sub-division and within Begusarai district in Bihar

It is situated around 3 km away from sub-district headquarter Balia and 18 km away (in east ) from district headquarter Begusarai. Village falls under Fatehpur panchayat of Baliya block, Begusarai. Village is spread in around 170 hectares.

History

Oldest habitants of Sadanandpur village had been Shandilya Gotra Bhumihars and muslims. Subsquelty Bhardwaj Gotra Bhumihars also came and settled here. During partition major population of muslims migrated to Pakistan but still there is good polulation of Muslims residing in the panchayat. Apart from Bhumihars people from almost all other cast are also residing in the village and all of them are having a cohesive so-existence .

Demographics

Sadanandpur is having a total polulation of around 4000 out of which male population is around 21oo and total female population is around 1900. Total geographical area of the village is 166 hectares. village is haing its own post office and a bank . postal pincode of Sadanandpur is 851211. There are around 768 houses in village.

Education

Village is having high literacy rate and there is awareness for education in the common mass. Village is having two primary schools, one middle school , high school and a degree level college also. Most heart warming fact is that the degree college has been established and constructed with sole contribution of villagers only. PDSK college Sadanandpur, Balia had been established in 1984 and since then the college has made its significant contribution in imparting higher education. Transportation

Village is siutated along N.H. 31 and is connected with national highway through a all weath road. The nearest railway station is Lakhminia (Balia) and several express and passenger trains have their stoppage at the station. Another railway halt namely Danauli Phulwaria is also situated in the close neighbourhood of the village.

Economy

village is having mainly agro-based economy and in the past it has been a significant producer of sugar cane and red chili . At present Sadanandpur is known in the district for its large scale milk production . Apart from agriculture the major population of youngseters from the village are in Govt as well as private jobs. Defence sector has been a major attraction for the youth of the village and a very significant number of youth from the village have served in Defence sector. Several of villagers are having florishing business career also. The villagers are known to have progressive approach and with the change of time they are also modifying their business acumen and mode of business.

Places to Visit

Sadanandpur village is a big hub of temples. one of Shakti peeth dedicated to deity Durga is situated here with the name Maata Chadrika Temple . With the sole contribution of villagers the temple has been recently refubricated and the now it is an heart warming place to visit.

Apart from this, the village is having a long tradition of Thakurbari( Temple dedicated to Lord Rama and mata Sita) and all these Thakurbari happens to be financially independent . Village is having four such Thakurbaries , a Temple dedicated to Godess Bhagwati and two temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

Sports

Sadanandpur has been an avid lover of Soccer(football) and football has been the game of village well before Independence. The village was having a strong football team during British Era also. It is said that in 1940s once a football team of British Army was passing throgh Begusarai ( Munger District) and they had halted at Balia and the caption of the team had showed his eagerness to have an exercise match with any local team . The British officials had suggested the name of Sadanadpur Team and a match was organised between the teams at Balia and barefooted Sadanandpur Team had defeated the Britishers by 6 goals. As a gestrue of appreciation the caption of British team had sent boots and kits for the village team members.

Sadanandpur had been organising an inter district Football tournament "Maa Chandrika Foot tournament" annually and teams of several neighbouring districts have been taking part in it and holding this cup has been an honour for the football loving teams.
