हिमालय के हिमनद

@संजीव कुमार: जी उपरोक्त जानकारी हिंदी विकिपीडिया पर ही हिमानी पृष्ठ पर थी जो मुझे वहाँ उचित नहीं लग रही थी क्योंकि वहाँ सिर्फ़ हिमनदों के बारे में सामान्य रूपरेखा और जानकारी प्रस्तुत होनी चाहिये थी जो सभी हिमनदों पर लागू होने वाली चीजें हैं। मैं उपरोक्त जानकारी को मिटाना भी नहीं चाहता था इसलिए वहाँ से कापी करके नए पृष्ठ पर पेस्ट कर दिया क्योंकि इसमें अधिकतर हिमनद हिमालय के लगे। समस्या ये हो गयी कि मैं हिमानी पृष्ठ पूरा का पूरा नए नाम हिमालय के हिमनद पर स्थानांतरित नहीं कर सकता था क्योंकि उसमें और जानकारी भी थी और यह पृष्ठ रखना भी जरूरी था, इसलिए कापी पेस्ट किया जिससे इसका इतिहास से लिंक खत्म हो गया। जहाँ (हिमानी पृष्ठ पर) यह उपरोक्त सामग्री थी वहाँ इतिहास देखने पर अभी पता चला कि यह अनुनाद सिंह जी द्वारा 14:44, 17 दिसम्बर 2009 का अवतरण में अपडेट की गयी है। उपरोक्त कड़ी में भी स्पष्ट उल्लेख है कि यह जानकारी विकिपीडिया से ली गयी है। कृपया देखें। अभी मैंने यह भी देखा कि देखा कि इसमें लगभग सभी हिमनद केवल उत्तराखण्ड के हैं। इसलिए मैं इसमें अभी बदलाव चाहता हूँ जो कुछ दिनों में कर दूँगा। मिटाना नहीं चाहता क्योंकि जानकारी काम की है और फिर से इकठ्ठा करने में मुश्किल होगी। धन्यवाद! -- सत्यम् मिश्र (वार्ता) 23:05, 10 जून 2014 (UTC)

tags on pages

Mate you are making really good pages but recently I found couple of pages where you have posted a tag {{काम जारी}} and it seems that you have stopped editing those pages as those tags are lying in state for more than a week, I request you to either finish your work on those pages or if your editing work is finished on those then please remove those tags, if not some other user might remove it.Sushilmishra (वार्ता) 00:36, 1 जुलाई 2014 (UTC)

अफ़्रीकी प्लेट

I have just now seen you moving a page अफ़्रीकी तख़्ता to अफ़्रीकी प्लेट, just a doubt can instead of plate can we use bhu khand, because nat geo and discovery hindi use bhu khand for word plate, it is hindi and often used on tv channels.....what are your thoughts??.....Sushilmishra (वार्ता) 20:24, 15 जुलाई 2014 (UTC)

After a small discussion, since nobody opposed the references given by me and nither suggested anything other than this, I consider it to be accepted. mate i dont like to get involved in any public discussion any more.....its just a suggestion because bhu khand is used on tv on nat geo and discovery or you can use तश्तरी which is also used on tv often, but i am against plate because it is introducing english word into hindi when other common words exist, it is upto you to decide.....because if we follow your logic then we should use english word ball for gaend as it is ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द hai.....so think logically mate.....its good that you stopped moving the page but what about the pages you already moved?.....Sushilmishra (वार्ता) 21:11, 15 जुलाई 2014 (UTC)

(1) I do not like unnecessary sankritization of Hindi, (2) I do not oppose introduction of foreign words in Hindi (3) For me, "baal" is a Hindi word which has its origins in English; you can use it and I will be on your side, (4)If hindiwaalas are seeking for every english word to have a Hindi equivalent, it is nonsense and simply it cannot be done, let them try (5)the pages I have moved can be undone by anybody when a consensus will be met about the right word use as I have have stopped. relax mate chill, i would like to bring to your notice an interesting but stupid demand or suggestion by a user on our admin bill crompton's page click here to see guy is asking hindi be written in gujarati script or roman script, sounds crazy right but when we are in favour of introducing english words into our language and also latin numerics then why not use latin script?

• i am too not in favour of word अफ्रीकी तख़्ता as word तख़्ता is acctually an urdu word which means board/slate.....
• if you know more about me you will find i am too dead against sanskritization of hindi, i prefer simple hindi, simple hindi doesnot mean hinglish but a simple understandable and easy to pronounce hindi. I already had lot of fight for it on chupal.
• you do not oppose introduction of foreign words into hindi, but will it be hindi any more? It will become english or german or russian, then so will you support changing the name of page bharat to india? Or will you also not oppose writing hindi in foreign script like latin or cyrlic or persian?
• come on mate word baal sounds like hair, in common term it is pronounced as boll.
• yes it is non sense that hindiwalas are seeking hindi equivalent for every english word, a rocket should be called as rocket, a car should be called as car, a signal should be called as signal, football should be football, rugby union should be rugby union, but what about word sinha/singh/sher should we call it as lion in hindi too? It would we weird mate imagine peoples name then, mahinder singh dhoni = mahinder lion dhoni or manmohan singh = manmohan lion or sher shah suri = lion king suri (because shah means king in english and walt disney will sue).
• i am not asking you to move it to prior state, no i am not.
• you can't imagine anybody searching google for अफ्रीकी तख़्ता, neither do i imagine it being as अफ्रीकी प्लेट or अफ्रीकी तश्तरी or even अफ्रीकी bhu khand, you know why because how many have access to hindi keyboard? Maximun users reach here via interwiki links only, tht is a fact.
• mate you said a very wrong thing that those pages can be moved again when a consensus is built, i ask you did you moved it after a final consensus was made? Remember on hindi wikipedia you can never reach a final consenus its filled with non sense.

• I suggest you instead of moving a page why dont you make multiple redirects with different names and spelling, this will solve this problem. I have started similar talk on admin sanjeev's page too if you wish to continue there then you are welcome.

Your suggestion will solve the problem of TITLE of the pages but what about the content inside the article? Will तख़्ता and तश्तरी remain there as they were?? And I'm not getting your point. If Football can remain as फ़ुटबाल why not Plate? And I never asked you to use something like पादकंदुक or पैरगेंद which you are trying to enjoy in parodying 'Manmohan Lion'. (in fact it is your suggestion तश्तरी which appears a literal translation joke just like तख्ता, पट्टिका etc.). 'Plate' is not similar to ball. The thing Ball had had a word in hindi (गेंद) for it prior to the introduction of English word for it; but the thing Plate is entirely a new concept which has been introduced in the name of plate and it did not have any hindi equivalent previously and that's why I'm supporting it because it is just like your examples Car, Rocket, Footbaal etc. Another thing, you appear to be much annoyed by ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द but you are missing the point. I provided references from the school textbooks up to university level texts and I still stand with the fact that while teaching in hindi geographers almost unanimously use this word प्लेट. I never meant by the above phrase that the word Plate is used by common people and thats why it should be included. No! by that ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द I simply mean to assert that It is widely accepted within the experts of the field where it belongs! And finally I believe in consensus! • its is good that problem of title is solved, moving on to your next problem,which is what about content inside....again a simple solution, example-answer me which one is correct, new york or city of new york or new yotk city or nyc, you would say all are correct, so cant we write it as--- New York (also know as new york city or city of new york or nyc)--- you can write like this in the 1st line and in the remaining content body you can use any word/name.
• football has to be football but plate cant be plate because football is official name of it, germans call it as fussball, spaniards as futball....it is corruption of original english name, they are not translating it in their language, but plate is not name it is a thing which can be changed from language to language, germans say it as platte, spanish as placa.
• yes i am annoyed with ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द thing because others are mis-using this phrase, for others ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द means word more common in spoken hindi....some 1 in past moved page विवियन रिचर्ड्स to विव रिचर्ड्स saying that विव ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द, like come on they changed this gentle man's name to his pet name, i argue should we call sir donald bradman as don bradman, or sachin tendulkar as master blaster or manmohan singh as mounimohan singh because even those are also ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द.
• you gave an example of school textbook and university books, i presented you example of daily tv shows on science channels like nat geo and discovery. Are those channels wrong then? Should we sue them for it?
• you are new on hindi wikipedia and doing a good work but slowly you will find that it is filled with crap.....you never reach an end/solution here on hindi wiki.

• i suggested you a solution for new problem which you raised and i suggest you to comment/discuss on it to futher refine the solution.

There was no previous or next problem as you believe Sir! the problem is what to use for that तख्ता which a nonsense literal translation of the word Plate (2)And I, too, am suggesting very humbly that the word Plate is a name just like Car, Rocket, Football etc. and translating it to तख्ता, तख्ती, तश्तरी, पटल, पट्टिका, भूखण्ड is not good. (3) and I thought that you believe in references...! which one is more authentic? the references I provided or the reference you are providing (your channel dubbings of TV serials)? Are you suggesting that university professors or team of NCERT editors can be overridden by TV serial dubbing people? And whom YOU are going to sue? (4) I would suggest you not to use your annoyance for others, towards me, (5)Talk rational! you are not supposed to use "you are new... thats why...." type things! • and your humble suggestion about plate being equal to word car, rocket, football etc is not only weird but out of this world, what are your thoughts about word india, batsmen, bowler.
• yes i believe in references, here talk is about ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द, so where to find example of such thing, ofcourse tv because if a word is ज्यादा प्रचलित शब्द then it should be into daily use on tv, and NCERT books changes with the government, remember en:California textbook controversy over Hindu history, and en:Romila Thapar.
• no i am not expressing my annoyance towards others on to you, i am just explaning you how things are mis-represnted here on hindi wikipedia, you can see an example now on talk page link which you provided to me.
• i may not be talking rational now because i am talk a valid point(what is wrong in saying you are new when you are really new?).
• mate you cant find more calm person than me here on wikipedia, i am not serious about any thing, none (which you might have seen by now), my way is question everything which can be questioned, and discuss about it, my way is socarates way.
• i just gave you a suggestion, never asked you to stop your work, nor did i forced you to use a particular word, its upto you to think logically and conclude what is good for hindi language wikipedia(dont make a decision that we used as example in future).

Dear Sir, you presented suggestion in fair way but the fact that they are GOOD is being believed by you. (2) What you consider "not only weird but out of this world" is beeing applied in this particular world in geographer's community from 70's when this theory gained success. (I request you to Go and seek for Prof. Savindra Singh's book in any good library and you may find its 1971 ed. which uses the word in discussion in the same way as I am trying to suggest) (3) and of course it proves that the word in in ज्यादा प्रचलित state. (4) who are you to decide whether some word is "not only weird but out of this world" without any reference. (5) If you think NCERT books are so much volatile then whom do you think is eternal NGC and Discovery. Do you belive I will call Spider-man as मकड़ामानव because it is dubbed so? (5) and yes I am new here, but why invoke such personal matter instead of arguing rationally in your socarates way? • bhu khand which means land mass, tashtari means plate, can be applied, prof singh wrote his views some othed will present their views in which they will other word.

@Sushilmishra: ji (1) Plate in English is note just a word for the pot(dish) but also used in many ways e.g. for steel plate (meaning a sheet of steel), marble plate (slab) etc. Thats why it is used in English to denote the portions of lithosphere (In euphemistic way!! which became rigid latter). On the other hand तश्तरी is a specific pot. when you say स्टील की तश्तरी none is going to recognize it as a sheet of steel of which something is going to be cut out. so tashtari is a pot not every meaning of "plate" can be conveyed by it (2) bhoo khanad is specifically used for a portion of land or land mass; but the the Plate in consideration is not a land mass. It is the base upon which land mass is being carried. So, both the words do not have much resemblance with the thing in our consideration. I was editing page हिमालय in which हिमालय की उत्पत्ति section is to be added. I have to write that "the Indian Plate collided with Eurasia Plate around 65mya." How should I write it? Whatever you may please can sense! You are asking questions instead of answering, and I have already told you why these literal translation cannot help (see above where I have told you why tashtari and bhookhand can't be used!)! If you are interested in discussing each possible alternative and reaching to the conclusion by the method of elimination, I may not sense it to be the right way. I have proposed one word which I think is most suitable for the concept to use on Hindi wikipedia, though it is an english word, because it is well adopted already by the geographers, geologists and other such communities which daily deal with it, read it and teach it (in hindi). I have tried to prove my point. If it is considered messing in your expert opinion, it was your's call to prove your point. I have already told whatever I have had to tell necessarily in the present context. I have told you why I moved pages, I have told you why the word "plate" should be used, I have told you why content and title both are important and there must be a certain level of consistency and uniformity between them (and that's why interwiki links of the style you suggested are unnecessary). हिंदी दिवस पर विकि सम्मेलन

भोजपुरी पर एक विकिमीडिया फ़ाउन्डेशन ब्लॉग

सत्यम् जी जैसे कि आप जानते हैं कि समय-समय पर मैं विभिन्न भाषाओं की विकिपीडियाओं पर विकिमीडिया फ़ाउन्डेशन ब्लॉग लिखता रहता हूँ। आप इसकी सूची मेरे सदस्यपृष्ठ पर देख सकते हैं। हाल ही में मैंने मैथिली विकिपीडिया पर एक ब्लॉग लिखा है जिसे आप यहाँ देख सकते हैं।

ये तो एक इन्क्यूबेटर परियोजना थी, इसलिए केवल दो सदस्यों के उत्तर से काम चलाना पड़ा है। इससे पूर्व पंजाबी के लिए मुझे सात सदस्यों का अध्यन करना पड़ा जबकि एस्पेरान्तो के लिए मुझे बारह सदस्यों के प्रश्नावली-अधारित उत्तरों (Questionnaire-responses) को जाँचना पड़ा था।

भोजपुरी विकिपीडिया पर लिखने के लिए:

1. आप देखिए कि यह सवाल कहाँ तक उपयुक्त हो सकते हैं। शायद "पंजाबी" के बदले "भोजपुरी" लिखने से या "दो-लिपि/ दो-देश" प्रश्न हटाना ही काफ़ी होगा या नहीं, इस पर सोचकर बताइये।

सत्यम् जी, मैंने एक दर्जन से अधिक वर्ष शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में गुज़ारने के कारण विकिपीडिया और इसकी अन्य परियोजनाओं के मुक्त ज्ञान-प्रसार से एक प्रकार के ऐसे स्नेह के भाव जुड़ गया हूँ कि कुछ लोग इसे पागलपन कह सकते हैं, कुछ लोग मुझे ही विकिपीडिया/ विकिमीडिया कर्मचारी समझ सकते हैं और पता नहीं क्या-क्या समझते हैं। इसी विकिपीडिया पर एक महापुरुष ने तो मुझे कठपुतली और शंकास्पद खाता भी कह दिया है!! --मुज़म्मिल (वार्ता) 08:48, 21 सितंबर 2014 (UTC)
