Hi,

Thanks for your message. Well I have told to my wife about Wikipedia, but she's not that much interested. And for me, spoken Hindi is OK, but written hindi, it's another story... ;o) Yann 18:05 14 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Hi,

I wonder about use of Hindi numbers (०...९). BTW, what's the name of these in Hindi? I know that Gujarati uses its own numbers, but I thought that Hindi uses 0...9. In most of the Hindi documents I have, 0...9 is used. What do you think, by example for २००३ ? Yann 09:32, 13 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Hello Yann,

Yes Hindi has its own numbers, please see गिनती - you'll find it is somewhat similar to gujarati. २००३ looks good - but since I use Windows98 it is easier for me to edit it as 2003 because that is easier to type directly in the URLs. How do other kanguages handle this? Since the Hindi Wikipedia is new, we can decide on the policy :-)

Hi,

Yes, I have seen गिनती. And I changed २००३ to use Hindi numbers. For the policy, I will follow your opinion. With my knowledge of written Hindi, I can't be of much help about policies. ;o) Yann 20:04, 13 Aug 2003 (UTC)
