If you format an Articles for Deletion debate where there have been previous deletion debates, you can add a list of those previous debates using this template.

Add the following line immediately below the sort template (i.e. the {{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD}}), replacing ARTICLE NAME with the name of the article to be deleted.

{{subst:Oldafdlist|ARTICLE NAME}}

The template then inserts a list of all AFD debates whose subpages begin with the article name. It is possible that previous versions of the article had different names - entering "DJ Awesome", for example, would retrieve both Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DJ Awesome and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DJ Awesome (Musician). You may also find unrelated debates.

  • This template should always be substituted.
  • If the list generated by this template is overly long or complex, or if too many false positives show up, you might consider posting a Comment with or after the nomination, to clarify matters.
  • Alternatively, if you wish, you can populate the list manually. Subst: the template as normal, then replace the "{{Special:Prefixindex/Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ARTICLE NAME}}" with wikilinks to each relevant debate.
