तुयुहुन राज्य (Tuyuhun Kingdom) या अझ़ा ('Azha, बिन्दुयुक्त 'झ़' के उच्चारण पर ध्यान दें) प्राचीनकाल में तिब्बत से पूर्वोत्तर कोको नूर नामक झील (आधुनिक काल में चिंगहई झील) के क्षेत्र में चिलियन पर्वतों और पीली नदी (ह्वांगहो) की ऊपरी घाटी के इलाक़ों में रहने वाले शियानबेई लोगों से सम्बन्धित ख़ानाबदोश क़बीलों द्वारा स्थापित एक राज्य का नाम था।[1]

तीसरी सदी ईसवी में शियानबेई परिसंघ के पतन के बाद उनका ख़ान (जिसका नाम तुयुहुन ही था) कोको नूर के इलाक़े में आ गया और उसने अपना एक नया राज्य बना लिया। इस राज्य का तेज़ी से विस्तार हुआ और यह एक शक्तिशाली साम्राजय बनाने में सफल रहा जिसने पहली बार मध्य एशिया के बड़े भूभाग को एक राजनैतिक सूत्र में बाँधा।[2] लेकिन सातवी शताब्दी में तुयुहुन राज्य चीन के तंग राजवंश और नए व शक्तिशाली तिब्बती साम्राज्य के सम्राट सोंगत्सेन गम्पो की आपसी खींचातानी से बहुत दबाव में आया। तंग राजवंश ने इन्हें हराकर उन्हें अपने अधीन होने पर मजबूर कर लिया।[3] इस से तुयुहुन कमज़ोर पड़ गए और तिब्बतियों ने इसका फ़ायदा उठाकर कई झड़पों के बाद पूरे तुयुहुन राज्य पर क़ब्ज़ा करके उसे ख़त्म कर दिया।[4]
