Sorry, but I'm lost here, are you asking me to make changes? What's the meaning of this phrase "some changes to some changes". I see you've already made that changes on the article. Sorry but I've reverted them back, because of following reasons:

1. IOC country codes are standard codes that always should be written in English alphabets only. It doesn't matter what language you are using, whether it is Chinese or Russian.
2. I could have also added map there, but I didn't, because [again] it violates access policy of Wikipedia.

I appreciate your efforts towards the improvement of this article, but believe me there is no such criteria that article should have annotated map. I'm an active participant of English Wikipedia's FLC process, so I pretty much know how things work there, and eager to implement those high quality standards here also, which IMO is very crummy in comparison to its companion wiki.

For reference check all these featured lists, none of them has any such map:

• en:1976 Summer Olympics medal table
• en:1896 Summer Olympics medal table
• en:2006 Winter Olympics medal table
• en:2004 Summer Olympics medal table
• en:2002 Winter Olympics medal table
• en:2000 Summer Olympics medal table

Actually, except three or so featured lists [of medal table], none of Wikipedia's article has this kind of map; and out of those three featured lists, two are mine creations (en:1982 Asian Games medal table and en:1998 Asian Games medal table). I can understand Hindi and able to write also, but am actually uncomfortable in keeping the conversation in Hindi [from mine side] unless other user specify his/her inability to understand me. If any user asks me to use Hindi then I won't have any problem for that particular instance (or user). I'd change उन्नत ज्ञान from my user page, because I'm unable to understand Hindi idioms, phrases and words of Urdu, which you people use very often. First thing first, keep your nationalistic POV to yourself. Secondly, I don't need a certificate about my English proficiency from a user who's unable to understand the common terms of English, if you'll start digging everything with a shovel of grammar then you ain't (sorry this is also not correct according to your अंग्रेजी व्याकरण की दृष्टि) going to find everything apprehensible. In the case user feels difficulty with English, and he's active on other language's Wikipedia, not a new/anonymous random user/IP. Also this is not a first time that any user preferred English over Hindi, most of the Indic users understand English very well. I tried to write in Hindi, but for that I've to use Google translator. I've no shame in using Hindi, actually I feel proud that I can use Hindi in my work, but prolong communication in this language is still tricky for me. Please don't take mine support for Indo-Arabic numerals as some kind of insult for Hindi. If I have had any such opinion for Hindi then why would I even contribute at Hindi Wikipedia. I just pointed out some wrong facts which were made at the chopaal. I support non-Devanagari numerals because even for Hindi person they are very uncommon, and I'm saying this with my experience. Like Hindi's newspapers of largest circulation– Dainik Jagaran, Dainik Bhaskar and Navbharat Times also use only Indo-Arabic numerals. So when printed media also has deprecated use of Devanagari numerals then why we'r dragging them here? and these newspapers have readership in Indian villages also, where only it could be a possibility that people only understand Devanagari numerals, and where Wikipedia has void presence. You say I've अभिमान for English, but believe me there is no such thing. I'm polyglot and feel same for all languages, whether it is English, Hindi, French, Sanskrit, Romanian, etc, they all are same for me. But this type of attitude that अंग्रेजी की विश्वभाषा बनने के पीछे के पिछले 400 वर्षों के कारणों को एक बार अगर आप समझ लें तो अंग्रेजी पर कतई अभिमान नहीं रहेगा doesn't seem healthy to me, and I know very better history of English from its Germanic status to Great Vowel Shift, so last 400 years is just a very little period. I'm also aware of history of Hindi from Vedic Sanskrit to Khariboli. Siddhartha, rationale is correct, but it doesn't satisfy the criteria of "Low Resolution". The rule is that a non-free image shouldn't be any bigger than it needs to be to fulfill its purpose. मायोत is completely wrong, मैयॉट is roughly correct if the standard Midwestern English dialect is taken into consideration, also similar in Cascadian English. But in French it would be equal to मेयोट, so IMO it should be मेयोट because what French people call it matters more than American. — Bill william compton^Talk13:02, 22 सितंबर 2011 (UTC)

Doc, if you really want to contribute on Hindi Wikipedia then you can help us in fighting vandalism, because for this you don't need an eloquent grip on Hindi. We've few non-Hindi users who do fantastic job, even I'm also not a native Hindi. To identify and revert vandalism you may check "हाल में हुए परिवर्तन" (recent changes) on you left side panel of the screen. Few easily recognizable examples of vandalism, which don't require knowledge of language are:

1. Repeated characters — Like गगगगगग ररररररररररर.
2. Long sentences — Like "येरतत्घ्तथरथसर र्गेर्गेररेगेरद्र्ग्र्गजज र्ह्रःरहःत्र्ह्रथ्त्रघ्रेगःथ्त्रर्थ्येर्तर्थ्येर्ह्यह्यततर, Hindi language usually does't has such long words.
3. Adding meaningless images
4. Non-Hindi articles or para/sentences, most easiest way to recognize vandalism.

I hope you'd like to stay. And for your request to expand article, I'm unable to do so, because even its English version is also very poorly written. Dear Bill, I have uploaded a file which is about 140 years old and I don't think it is copyrighted anymore. Why is it to be deleted when it is available in free domain? (please read my contest statement) I am not much aware about the policy with regard to file uploads on Wiki, but I usually take utmost care while uploading a file on Wiki. Hi Dinesh, it's absolutely veridical that this image is in public domain. But you should follow a right procedure for uploading images on Wikipedia or Commons. I'd suggest few mandatory points to remember whenever you upload any image from anywhere:

• Always mention the source of file; in this file's case you should have given that website's link as a source.
• Date of the work — the "day" when image was taken.
• Author — Who took the image?, a proper attribution to original author is must.

On this image, Indian Copyright Act, 1957, is applicable, according to which "any photograph published more than 60 years ago—means before January 1, 1951—in India would be in public domain. So, this image is certainly in public domain in India at least, but for its inter-project usability I'll re-upload it on Commons with proper description and attribution. — Bill william compton^Talk15:50, 12 अक्टूबर 2011 (UTC)

Deletions of files without a license

Hi! I noticed that you have allready deleted a lot of files without a license :-) And I noticed that you also check before you delete :-D Regarding this edit the file is an unused duplicate of चित्र:Amitprabhakar1.JPG so I think it should be safe to delete. Also in time even userpage images should have a license but I did not nominate files for deletion if they were in use. I've deleted one copy, but I'm still reluctant to delete other files under user space because IMO (& as per Wikipedia process?) uploader of the file should be notified for the possible deletion, but here we're not following the protocol. Yes I agree that informing uploader would be best. The reason I did not inform uploaders about the deletion nominations is 1) I do not know which template you use on hindi, 2) I do not speak the language, 3) the files were not used so they will probably not be missed and 4) there is a chance that uploader has the files on their watchlist and perhaps also has "E-mail me when a page on my watchlist is changed" marked.

When it comes to the files there is used it should be possible to get a bot inform the uploaders with a "Hi. You have uploaded these files without a license. Could you please help add a license?" and then after some times the files could be nominated for deletion if no license has been added.

Perhaps it would be good to add a template on all the files without a license that helps uploader to add a license? That would be more visible than just adding the file in a category. --MGA73 (वार्ता) 19:27, 24 अक्टूबर 2011 (UTC)

1. Unfortunately there is no such template to warn the users (written in Hindi). As you tag files with the help of bot, I suggest you to use any template written in English or French and I'll translate it into Hindi.
2. No problem, Hindi is also not my native language, but I can contribute in it at advanced level. So, I will be more than happy to help you.
3. Agree, but most of the Hindi users also treat Wikipedia as repository of images. They usually don't upload files on Commons—don't know why—so, deleting files of encyclopedic values would be a loss of project. Although there is very less probability that these files would be from genuine sources but you can't be sure. Surprisingly Hindi administrators (except one) also know nothing about image use policy of Wikipedia. I've seen one case recently when one admin was suggesting other users on chopal (village pump) to download files from internet and upload them on Wikipedia after making few changes like size, color, etc, with the help of paint, so that these types of files could be avoided for deletion. So, after such instances I'm pretty sure of one thing explaining anything to these users is like casting pearls before swine.
4. Extremely rare chance, even active users don't respond forget about part-time users.

So we need an admin to change the protected pages before the files can be deleted. Redirecting to another language's wiki is not a good idea actually it would show our incompetency to create a featured content on Hindi Wikipedia. Empty Categories

Could you please have a look at विशेष:WhatLinksHere/Template:db-c1. It lists some categories I tagged for speedy deletion over 15 days ago, but they're for some reason, not showing up in श्रेणी:शीघ्र हटाने योग्य श्रेणियाँ. Fixed – I think it's fixed now. The "all" parameter of {{category handler}} has given an argument in the form of parser function. Verifiability

Would a link to the CIA world factbook be enough to verify the articles listed in साँचा:जर्मनी के राज्य and साँचा:अफ़ग़ानिस्तान के प्रांत? I'm asking since I could not find the factbook in hindi. Where do you need to provide a link? How would you verify spellings in Hindi through CIA Factbook?, Deutsch has very different pronunciations than English. Deutsch has a strict correspondence between written and spoken language (like in template बादेन should be बाडेन), on the contrary English has so intricate pronunciation rules. Also, template of German States is incomplete, check here for complete list (it's a federal government's website). Hamburg, Berlin and Bremen are city-states, so they also need a space. All the articles listed in these two navboxes are one-line articles with no sources(hence not verifiable). I wanted to improve them by adding a reference for this one line as a first step before adding any other text. But the problem is that I can't seem to be able to find any references for them in hindi. Hence, I was wondering if the factbook(in english) would do. If not, how do we verify the basic information that "XYZ is a state/city-state/province of Germany/Afganistan?"(that is all that the articles say, as of now). The problem in question isn't whether the template's complete or not(it isn't? Mea culpa! I thought you wanted to improve these templates, like spellings, rightness, etc. For verifiability there is no need of Hindi sources, as per guideline of different languages Wikipedias (fe, es, de): "we should give priority to Hindi (for Hindi Wikipedia) sources if they are available, fulfills Wikipedia criteria of reliability, accessibility (by at least one mean), etc, over non-Hindi sources. If these types of Hindi sources are not available then we can cite sources in any language". So, you are free to cite CIA Factbook or any other source for that matter. Ok, so the factbook and/or other language reliable sources are good enough for verifiability. As for the spelling, I'll try my best to correct them, but words of other languages(such as german state names) will be hard to get the correct spellings of; unless we can find IPA on the source language wikipedia. Except ville other two are in Portuguese. God knows why they were even copied here. Two are infoboxes similar to {{ज्ञानसन्दूक अवस्थापन}} and Instruções da predefinição is a deprecated template from Portuguese Wikipedia. And funny thing is that both ville and cidade are respective French and Portuguese translations of city. श्रेणी:Non Licensed Images uploaded by Rajeevmass and similar categories

Hi!

We talked about this category earlier. I'm just wondering if the files should be nominated for deletion or putting them in a category is enough? The user is blocked and can therefore never fix the license.

I made similar categories for other users. What do you think we should do about them? I informed the uploaders. Is that enough? Should we add a deletion tag on all the files later?

I think deleting all the files after 2 weeks is a bad idea. The best would be if uploader added a correct license. But if that is not done others could take the images one by one and check if there is a free replacement on xx-wiki or Commons, add a fair use-tag if relevant. And if not then delete the file.

Hi Michael, unfortunately most of the images on Hindi Wikipedia are taken from internet, so If you haven't noticed yet, this is a reason that almost none of the images has been saved. Talking about this particular user (who once was an admin here), all the images are copyrighted except चित्र:Nehru15.jpg which albeit should be deleted for not having license, source, etc, but is in public domain ({{PD-India}}) and I'm pretty sure it's already present on Commons. Adding a fair use-tag is also not an option because non-free images aren't allowed to be used on templates, like चित्र:CricketAustraliaLogo.png—logo of Cricket Australia is used in {{ऑस्ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी}} (Australian cricket players) template. All the rest pictures are either available on Commons/English Wikipedia or can be replaced, which I'll do slowly and steadily. — Bill william compton^Talk01:41, 18 नवम्बर 2011 (UTC)

Regarding image licence

Avoid such things. The file you uploaded is a non-free image and we have very strict rules and regulations to use them. Like image should only be used if it increases the reading experience/understanding of user, which can't be done just by words alone.
